Yes, it was Wai-natur's fifth birthday this year and we celebrated in our usual style welcoming the first visitors for the summer during Labour Weekend. Once the new Petanque piste was completed our first tournament for the Aoraki Challenge Trophy was held on the Saturday. Following our adjournment to the Wairau Valley Tavern next door for the evening festivities to celebrate Nop's Big '0' we were welcomed with masses of lovely Thai food. We were well entertained by a great band playing. A communal 'bring your own meal' following a typical hot sunny afternoon frollicking in the pool.
